His daughter Phoebe Gates reveals father Bill Gates' private condition

Phoebe Gates, who is a student at Stanford University, mentioned in a conversation with Alex Cooper on the 'Call Her Daddy' podcast that her father, Bill Gates, has limited social skills.

Phoebe shared a detail about her father that had not been previously disclosed to the public, stating, "My dad is quite socially awkward. He said he has Asperger's syndrome."

Although Bill Gates has previously acknowledged having some traits associated with the autism spectrum, he had not mentioned a formal diagnosis. While the statement caused a stir on social media, some users noted they were not surprised, while others argued that the diagnosis might have been made casually.

It was recalled that in his 2023 memoir, 'Source Code', Bill Gates wrote about struggling with social interactions during his childhood and becoming hyper-focused on specific interests.

Gates had described his past hyper-focusing behaviors by saying, "I would get so caught up in the work I was doing that I would even forget to eat."

Bill Gates has not yet commented following his daughter's remarks.

WHAT IS ASPERGER'S SYNDROME?

Asperger's Syndrome is a neurodevelopmental difference within the autism spectrum disorders. It typically manifests with certain distinct characteristics in social interaction, communication, and behavior. Language Development: Speech development is generally normal, but the style of speech may be different (formal, monotonous, flat).

Intelligence: They generally have normal or superior intelligence levels, but may experience difficulties in the area of social intelligence.

Difficulty with empathy, though this is not a complete lack of empathy; there is a difference in recognizing and expressing emotions.
