Death toll from floods in India rises to 31

As the number of people who lost their lives in the floods in India's Sikkim state has risen to 31, search and rescue efforts continue for more than 100 missing people.

The toll from the flood disaster, which occurred after water levels rose at a dam in Sikkim, is worsening.

Authorities stated that at least 31 people, including 4 soldiers, have died in the disaster, which has affected more than 22 thousand people.

Furthermore, according to a report by the Hindustan Times, search and rescue efforts are ongoing for more than 100 missing people.

The treatment of 26 people injured in the floods is also continuing at various hospitals in the state.

It is stated that the flood occurred due to the overflowing of a hydroelectric dam following extreme rainfall.
