Death toll in Iran protests exceeds 3,000! Pahlavi calls for 'continued action'

The toll of the protests in Iran, which began on December 28 with reactions to the cost of living and quickly turned into mass anti-government demonstrations, has been updated. The US-based Human Rights Activists in Iran (HRA) has shared the latest data with the public. According to the organization's statement, the number of people who lost their lives during the demonstrations has reached 3,090.

The data indicates that 2,885 of those who lost their lives were protesters, 19 were children, and 21 were neutral civilians. It was also noted that 165 security personnel and pro-government civilians were among the deceased. The HRA reported that 3,882 death reports are still under investigation.

The organization stated that 2,055 people were seriously injured during the actions and that the number of those detained has risen to 22,123.

PAHLAVI CALLS FOR CONTINUED ACTION

Reza Pahlavi, the eldest son of the deposed Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who lives in exile, called on protesters to continue their actions. Sharing a post on his social media account, Pahlavi claimed that the Iranian administration is trying to give the impression that everything is fine, stating, "Nothing is normal in Iran until Ali Khamenei and his criminal regime are thrown into the dustbin of history and the criminals are punished."

INVITED THE PUBLIC TO STRIKE

Calling on all Iranians to continue the protests throughout the weekend, Pahlavi said, "I ask my brave fellow citizens across Iran to shout their anger with national slogans and raise their voices of protest." He argued that this step would ensure more support from the world for the national movement in Iran.
