The Director of the US cyber intelligence agency, the National Security Agency (NSA), Timothy Haugh, and Deputy Director Wendy Noble have been dismissed. According to reports in the US press, following the dismissal of General Haugh, who headed both the NSA and US Cyber Command, and his deputy, Lieutenant General William Hartman, the Deputy Commander of Cyber Command, has been appointed as his interim replacement.
No official statement has yet been made regarding the reason for the dismissal of Timothy Haugh, who took office in February 2024. Some Democratic leaders serving on the Senate and House Intelligence Committees criticized Haugh's dismissal and pointed out that a critical gap could emerge in the field of intelligence.
