It has been reported that Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on the Yatir, Kafra, Beit Yahoun, and Kafr Dounine regions in southern Lebanon starting in the evening hours. According to reports from the region, the attacks were carried out despite the ceasefire being in effect.
Earlier in the day, the Israeli army had also issued threats of attack against various points in the southeast, including Mivdon, Choukine, Yohmor, Arnoun, Western Zawtar, Eastern Zawtar, and Kfar Tebnit. It is known that in a statement made yesterday evening, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed military forces to carry out more intense attacks on Lebanon.
Following the recent rise in regional tensions, many rural areas in southern Lebanon were occupied on March 2 during intense Israeli air operations. This military activity has also deepened the humanitarian crisis within the country. According to data from the Lebanese government, the number of displaced citizens in the country has exceeded 1 million 162 thousand since the clashes began to intensify.
United States President Donald Trump had stated that the 10-day temporary ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, which went into effect on April 17, would continue for another 3 weeks.
