Domestic flights resume in Iran

Iran Airlines has announced that domestic flights, which were suspended during the US-Israel attacks, will resume tomorrow after a 50-day hiatus.

Following the attacks launched by the US and Israel at the end of February, Iranian airspace was closed and all domestic flights were halted. After this nearly 50-day break, Iran Airlines announced that the domestic flight schedule would be reinstated.

According to a statement from the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran, the flight from Mehrabad International Airport in the capital, Tehran, to Mashhad will be the first flight to take place tomorrow at 10:00 local time. Additionally, Tehran's two major airports, Imam Khomeini and Mehrabad, have reopened for passenger transport as of today.

Following the temporary ceasefire reached between the US and Iran in the eighth week of the attacks, it became possible to gradually reopen the country's airspace to flights. With the arrangements made over the weekend, airports in Mashhad, Birjand, Gorgan, and Zahedan, as well as the two major terminals in the capital, have resumed operations.
