Former US President and Republican presidential candidate for the November 5 election, Donald Trump, stated that he would file a criminal complaint against Google if elected, alleging that the company unfairly displays negative news about him rather than his 2024 election rival, Kamala Harris.
All eyes in the US are on the presidential election on November 5.
In the election, which the whole world will be following closely, Democratic candidate and US Vice President Kamala Harris will compete against Republican candidate and former US President Donald Trump.
Continuing his election campaign, Trump announced in a post on his Truth Social account that he would file a criminal lawsuit against Google if he is elected president.
According to the report in T24, Trump said in his post, "It has been determined that Google has illegally used a system of only revealing and displaying bad stories about Donald J. Trump, some of which were fabricated for this purpose, while at the same time only revealing good stories about Comrade Kamala Harris."
"WHEN I BECOME PRESIDENT, I WILL DEMAND THEIR PROSECUTION"
Stating that "This is an illegal activity," Trump said, "I hope the Department of Justice will criminally prosecute them for this blatant Election Interference. If not, and subject to the Laws of our Country, I will request their prosecution when I win the election and become President of the United States."
GOOGLE'S RESPONSE WAS SWIFT
Google stated that it does not manipulate search results to favor any particular party. In a statement from the company, it was said, "Both campaign websites consistently appear at the top of Search for relevant and common search queries."
Conservatives have long complained that Google's search results favor Democrats. The right-wing Media Research Center, which describes itself as a media watchdog for conservatives, had previously published reports claiming that Google helps Democrats.
TRUMP'S THREAT CAMPAIGN
In another Truth Social post this month, Trump threatened to initiate criminal prosecutions against lawyers, donors, political operatives, and a number of other individuals he believes have engaged in election fraud against him if he wins the presidential election in November.
