A driver who crashed their vehicle into the Chinese consulate building in San Francisco, USA, lost their life as a result of fire opened by security forces.

A driver who crashed their vehicle into the Chinese Consulate in the Japantown district of San Francisco and entered the building's lobby was killed by security forces.

Kathryn Winters, one of the police officials who responded to the scene, stated that police opened fire on the suspect who entered the building and that the suspect, who was taken to the hospital, could not be saved.

Stating that the investigation into the incident is ongoing, Winters said, "I would like to give you more information, but this is a very complex investigation."

In a statement released by the Chinese Consulate General, the phrase "Our embassy strongly condemns this attack" was used.
