The 'new earthquake' statements made by astronomer Frank Hoogerbeets, known as the "earthquake prophet," have become a hot topic.
Hoogerbeets, who continues his work with the research group he founded in the Netherlands called "SSGEOS," claimed that a major earthquake will occur in Pakistan.
In a statement released by SSGEOS, it was suggested that a major earthquake would occur in Pakistan within the next 48 hours. The statements by Hoogerbeets, who "predicted" the earthquake disaster that plunged all of Turkey into mourning in February, have caused panic and fear in Pakistan.

SSGEOS, which studies electrical fluctuations in the atmosphere at sea level, stated that a potential earthquake could occur. The institution claimed that electrical density on the fault line in Pakistan is very high. Pakistani media also reported that there is panic among those living in the region.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has not made a statement regarding the claims. Previously, the Pakistan Meteorological Department had stated that earthquake predictions have no scientific basis and had denied similar claims. Pakistan, which is located where the Indian plate meets the Eurasian plate, is considered one of the countries with a high risk of earthquakes.

Hoogerbeets had made a post on his social media account three days before (February 3) the February 6 earthquakes that occurred in Kahramanmaraş.
Hoogerbeets had used the expression, "Sooner or later there will be a magnitude 7.5 earthquake in this region (South-Central Turkey, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon)."
Following the earthquake that occurred days after this post, Hoogerbeets' number of followers increased rapidly, and he was given the nickname "earthquake prophet."
