Election date set in Iran!
First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber, who was appointed as acting president following the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash, has announced that the presidential election will be held on June 28.

According to the official Iranian news agency IRNA, acting President Mohammad Mokhber held a meeting with Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei to determine the date for the presidential election.
In the statement issued following the meeting, it was announced that the presidential election will take place on June 28.
Those wishing to run in the presidential election will be required to submit their applications between May 30 and June 3.
Election campaign activities will be conducted from June 12 until the morning of June 27.
VICE PRESIDENT ASSUMES PRESIDENTIAL DUTIES ON AN INTERIM BASIS
Following the approval of the country's leader, Ali Khamenei, First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber assumed the presidential duties in accordance with the Constitution, as confirmed by Iran's Guardian Council.
Under the Iranian constitution, a council consisting of the parliament speaker, the judiciary chief, and the first vice president is required to make arrangements for a new president to be elected within a maximum of 50 days.
In Iran, presidents are elected by the public from among candidates approved by the Guardian Council.
WHAT HAPPENED?
President Raisi attended a dam inauguration ceremony on the Iran-Azerbaijan border yesterday. On his return, the helicopter carrying Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and other officials was involved in a crash.
At Iran's request, Turkey deployed an Akıncı unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for search and rescue operations. The coordinates of the helicopter wreckage identified by the Akıncı UAV were shared with Iranian authorities.
Iranian teams that reached the identified location determined that there were no survivors from the crash.
