Elon Musk is testing the US's new visa program

Elon Musk has announced that the "golden visa" program, introduced by Donald Trump and planned to be sold for 5 million dollars, is in the trial phase. This program, which was announced in February, will allow wealthy individuals to reside and work in the US.

Trump had stated that this visa is similar to a Green Card but offers a more advanced version. However, there are doubts in the public eye regarding the price and details of this visa.

Although the details regarding the citizenship process have not yet been clarified, Musk stated that a limited test is being conducted to check the functioning of the system.

DETAILS OF THE PROGRAM AND THE TEST PROCESS

In a post on the X platform on May 11, Elon Musk said, "We are conducting a quiet trial to ensure the system is working properly. Once it is fully tested, it will be announced to the public along with the President's statement." The statement came after a report in Wired magazine, which stated that the program's digital infrastructure was built by a unit reporting to Musk.

Although the White House has not yet officially announced the program, some US residency permit holders and foreign visitors have begun to be asked whether they have applied for a "Trump Card Visa" in the online Global Entry system.

In his presentation in February, Trump stated that golden card holders would have the same rights as green card holders. These individuals will be able to live and work in the US, but will not be able to vote or run for public office. Trump also suggested that this visa could turn into a path to citizenship. While it remains unclear how the process will work, Trump claimed that these individuals would make a major contribution to the US economy.
