According to information submitted to the court, the 28.6 million reais (approximately $5.24 million) that the company was required to pay as a fine was transferred to the wrong bank. This payment error has further deepened the uncertainty surrounding the platform's status in Brazil.
According to a report by Sözcü, the Brazilian Supreme Court announced that the fine imposed on the X platform for failing to implement decisions regarding hate speech oversight had been deposited into the wrong bank account.
Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes demanded that the payment be made to the correct bank, stating that the final decision on whether the platform can resume its operations in the country depends on the opinion to be provided by the Attorney General's Office.
