Last month, Neuralink, founded by Elon Musk, announced that a chip had been implanted in a human brain for the first time in history. Initial findings indicated that the patient was in stable condition and that no issues had been encountered. In an online event he attended this week, Musk stated that the person with the brain chip is able to control a computer mouse with their thoughts.
In his statement, Musk said, "The researchers are trying to get as many clicks as possible," indicating that every avenue is being explored to further develop the chip.
1 MONTH LATER, STILL NO CONCRETE EVIDENCE
Despite these statements from Elon Musk, Neuralink has not shared any visuals regarding the person who received the brain chip. Following the operation performed a month ago, the fact that Musk has not yet presented any concrete evidence to the public to support his claim that the operation was successful is raising questions. Furthermore, no academic paper regarding Neuralink's brain chip study has been published to date.
Neuralink's brain chip is not the only study in this field. Last year, researchers in the U.S. succeeded in reading brain signals through stents implanted in the brain. Studies in this field are particularly focused on making life easier for individuals with physical disabilities.
