Emails regarding Trump from sex offender Epstein released: 'Spent hours together'

Democratic politicians in the U.S. have released emails from billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of running a sex trafficking ring involving underage girls and was found dead in prison, regarding U.S. President Donald Trump. The emails reveal that Epstein wrote that Trump was aware of the girls who were victims of sexual abuse and that he had "spent hours" with one of the victims.

In an email dated April 2, 2011, which was among 23,000 documents belonging to Epstein reviewed by the House Oversight Committee and disclosed by Democrats, it was revealed that Epstein wrote to his former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell that Trump had spent hours with someone whose name was redacted in the email.

In the disclosed email, Epstein is seen writing to his girlfriend, "I want you to realize that the dog that hasn't barked is Trump. (Redacted name) spent hours with him (Trump) at my house. But he was never mentioned once."

Maxwell replied to Epstein on the same day, "I was thinking about that too."

While the name of the person Trump spent time with at Epstein's house was redacted, Democrats referred to the person in question as a "victim."

In an email sent to U.S. journalist and author Michael Wolff in 2019, Epstein wrote regarding Trump, "Of course he knew about the girls. Because he asked Ghislaine to stop."

"ATTEMPT TO DISTRACT"

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt accused Democrats of taking events out of context by releasing "selective" emails and attempting to create a false narrative against U.S. President Trump.

Leavitt stated that the woman whose name was redacted in the emails by Democrats was Virginia Giuffre. Leavitt reminded that Giuffre had stated in her public remarks multiple times that President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing and that he had "treated her extremely kindly" during their limited interactions.

Leavitt said, "President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club decades ago for his inappropriate behavior toward female employees, including Virginia Giuffre. These stories are nothing more than malicious attempts to distract from President Trump's historic achievements. Every sensible American knows full well that this is a hoax and an attempt to distract from the reopening of the government."

THE EPSTEIN CASE

U.S. billionaire Epstein was arrested on July 6, 2019, in New York after being brought before a federal court on charges of sexually abusing dozens of underage girls between 2002 and 2005. It was announced that Epstein committed suicide in the prison where he was being held on August 10, 2019. Epstein's connections to world-famous figures, including actors and politicians, who he trapped by creating a prostitution ring, drew widespread outrage globally.

U.S. President Donald Trump has vehemently denied allegations that he was aware that Epstein was engaged in sex trafficking. Trump stated that he and Epstein were friends for a period but that they later had a falling out.

Epstein's British girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for various crimes, including conspiring with Epstein to force an underage person into sex trafficking.

Virginia Giuffre, one of the best-known victims of the Epstein scandal, claimed in public statements that she was a victim of human trafficking at the age of 17 and was sent by Epstein for sexual abuse to high-profile individuals, including Prince Andrew of the British royal family.
