Erdoğan meets with Hamas delegation: Are Palestinians coming to Turkey?

A Hamas delegation visiting Turkey held a meeting with Erdoğan at Beştepe.

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a meeting with a Hamas delegation led by the Chairman of the Hamas Shura Council, Mohammed Darwish.

The meeting was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, MIT Director İbrahim Kalın, Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, Chief Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Security Akif Çağatay Kılıç, and Chief of Staff to the President Hasan Doğan.

Reports in the Israeli press had claimed that Turkey agreed to grant asylum to 15 of the hostages released as part of an agreement between Hamas and Israel.

In a statement issued by the Presidential Communications Directorate, it was stated that 'Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, received the Chairman of the Hamas Shura Council, Mohammed Darwish, and the Hamas delegation at the Presidential Complex.'

No information was shared regarding the details of the meeting.
