Erdoğan meets with Macron

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron in the Republic of South Africa, where he is attending the G20 Leaders' Summit.

During the meeting, the two leaders evaluated Turkey-France relations as well as prominent regional and global agenda items.

During the talks, Erdoğan emphasized the importance of mutual steps aimed at advancing relations between Ankara and Paris.

The President stated that it is vital to maintain the ceasefire achieved in Gaza and to ensure the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid to the region, adding that the path to lasting peace lies in a two-state solution and that Turkey is making efforts in this direction.

Erdoğan also expressed that it is necessary to utilize diplomatic channels to the maximum extent possible for the war between Ukraine and Russia to conclude with a fair and lasting peace. He conveyed that Turkey will continue its initiatives to bring the parties together at the peace table.
