EU TAKES ACTION

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that Europe would take action against the US decision in question. Leyen stated that the tariffs announced by US President Trump would negatively affect not only transatlantic relations but the entire global economy.
Von der Leyen noted the following: “Such reciprocal tariffs increase prices and raise costs in many areas, from medicine to transportation. Inflation becomes inevitable. As the EU, we are determined to protect our interests. Trump must be open to negotiation in this process. Our first countermeasure package for steel products is ready. If dialogue does not yield results, we will take new steps."
