An explosion occurred at the Santa Maria Courthouse located in the US state of California. In a statement made by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, it was reported that teams were responding to the incident, stating, "Report of an explosion at the Santa Maria Courthouse. Please stay away from the area. The scene is not considered secure."
Eyewitnesses stated that a person entered the courthouse building and the explosion occurred after they threw a backpack. It was reported that the police have taken one person into custody. It is not yet known whether there are any deaths or injuries in the explosion.
