Two explosion sounds were heard near the Supreme Court in Brazil. According to the report by Agência Brasil, those inside the Supreme Court were evacuated for security reasons.

So far, 1 person has lost their life in the explosions. A large number of police and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the area.

In a statement made by the Federal District Civil Police, it was reported that an investigation into the incident has been launched.

The area where the Planalto Presidential Palace and the National Congress are located, which are close to the points where the explosion sounds originated, has been completely closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic.

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's spokesperson, Jose Chrispiniano, announced in a statement that Lula was not at the palace.

THE EXPLOSION WAS A SUICIDE ATTACK

In a statement made by the authorities, it was reported that the bomb that exploded in front of the Supreme Court of Justice in the capital, Brasília, was a suicide attack.

As a result of the initial investigations, it was stated that the first bomb was placed inside a statue and the perpetrator died at the scene due to the detonation of the explosive.

The statement indicated that the second explosion occurred in a parked vehicle and that the connection between the two bombs is being investigated.
