The US Attorney's Office for the District of Minnesota determined that 42-year-old Julius Fineday Sr. intentionally deprived his daughter, Jewel Sky Fineday, of food and medical care from January 1, 2022, until Christmas of that year, despite being in a position to take the necessary precautions.

According to the report by T24, Fineday pleaded guilty to the charge of "child neglect resulting in death" and was sentenced to prison.

It was also revealed that the young girl, who suffered from malnutrition, was living in unhygienic conditions and was infested with lice.

Prosecutors stated that they accepted Fineday's admission of guilt before trial and without a plea agreement as a significant mitigating factor against a longer prison sentence, noting that he showed sincere remorse.

It was stated that the cause of the young girl's death was a Streptococcal infection resulting from malnutrition and neglect.
