Documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice regarding American billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of establishing a sex trafficking ring, have presented allegations that contradict U.S. President Donald Trump's statements that he was unaware of Epstein's actions.
In the FBI document released by the department, which includes 2019 statements from former Palm Beach Police Chief Michael Reiter, who previously served in the state of Florida, it is alleged that Trump personally called the police chief in 2006 and explained that Epstein's actions involving underage girls were widely known in both New York and Palm Beach.
According to the statements in the document, during the phone call that took place after the allegations against Epstein became public, Trump told Reiter, "It's great that you are stopping him. Everyone knew what he was doing."
According to the document, during the phone call, Trump warned the police about Epstein's former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell and explained that Maxwell was the facilitator of Epstein's activities. According to Reiter's testimony, Trump said, "She is a bad person. Focus on her."
