Unannounced visit to Israel by the FBI

FBI Director Christopher Wray has paid an unannounced visit to Israel.

In a statement, the FBI noted that Wray made an unannounced visit to Israel to discuss developments in the region and met with Israeli security and intelligence officials.

The statement indicated that during his visit, Wray described the partnership with his Israeli counterparts as a "long-standing, close, and robust partnership," adding that Wray also stated the FBI would continue its support for Israel and emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries.

Emphasizing the FBI's commitment to keeping its allies safe, the statement noted, "The FBI has responded to and will continue to respond to requests from Israel to provide support in their ongoing efforts to protect their citizens from terrorist threats and acts."

The statement also recorded that Wray met with FBI personnel in Israel and thanked them for their dedication and service to partners and the region.
