Fire at nursing home: 9 dead, 30 injured

A fire broke out in the evening at a nursing home called Gabriel House in the city of Fall River, located in the US state of Massachusetts.

Fall River Fire Chief Jeffrey Bacon stated in a press conference that 9 people lost their lives in the fire and at least 30 people, including firefighters, were injured, adding, "We experienced an unspeakable tragedy here in Fall River last night."

An investigation has been launched into the fire, the cause of which is not yet known.
