First day of Russia-Ukraine-US talks in UAE concludes
The first day of negotiations between Russian, Ukrainian, and US delegations, scheduled to last two days in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has concluded.

Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, is hosting Russian, Ukrainian, and US delegations. According to a statement from the Ukrainian Presidency, the first day of negotiations between the Russian, Ukrainian, and US delegations in Abu Dhabi has been completed. The statement noted, "The negotiations have concluded for today."
"We appreciate the US mediation"
Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, who leads the Ukrainian delegation, stated after the meeting that they participated in the trilateral talks alongside Kyrylo Budanov, Director General of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU), David Arakhamia, Chairman of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction, and Sergiy Kyslytsya, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. In a statement on his social media account, Umerov said, "We appreciate the US mediation."
"Additional meetings planned for tomorrow"
Rustem Umerov noted that the meeting was attended by Steve Witkoff, US President Donald Trump’s Special Envoy to the Middle East; Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law and former senior advisor; Josh Gruenbaum, Commissioner of the US Federal Acquisition Service; Daniel Driscoll, US Secretary of the Army; and General Alexus G. Grynkewich, Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) of NATO. Umerov stated, "The Russian delegation consisted of representatives from military intelligence and the armed forces. The meeting focused on the parameters for ending Russia's war and the future course of the negotiation process aimed at moving toward a dignified and lasting peace."

Stating that the talks will continue, Umerov said, "Additional meetings are planned for tomorrow. Tomorrow, Chief of the General Staff General Andrii Hnatov and Deputy Head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Lieutenant General Vadym Skibitskyi will also join the Ukrainian delegation. After each stage, we inform Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The Ukrainian delegation is acting in a coordinated manner within the framework of the tasks set by President Zelenskyy. We are prepared to work in different formats depending on the course of the dialogue."
