Sweden has welcomed the approval of its NATO membership application by the Turkish Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee.

Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström has welcomed the approval of the proposal regarding his country's accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) by the Turkish Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee.
In a message on X, Billström stated, "We welcome the approval of Sweden's NATO membership application by the Foreign Affairs Committee in Turkey.
"WE LOOK FORWARD TO IT"
The next step will be for the Parliament to vote on this matter. We look forward to becoming a NATO member."
The Bill on the Approval of the Protocol on Sweden's Accession to NATO had been accepted by the Turkish Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee.
