DeSantis announced his decision to withdraw in a video shared on his X social media account.

Noting that it is clear that Republicans want to give former US President Donald Trump another chance, DeSantis stated, "I had some disagreements with Donald Trump over the Covid-19 pandemic and his selection of Anthony Fauci. However, it is clear that Trump is superior to current President Joe Biden."

DeSantis stated that he had previously promised to support the Republican nominee and that he would keep that promise.

"I WILL NOT TAKE THE TIME AND RESOURCES OF VOTERS"

Stating that he did not believe he could be successful and that he would not take any more of the voters' time and resources, DeSantis announced his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential primary race.

The next primary election in the US will be held in the state of New Hampshire on January 23, and the primary process will continue until June 8.

Both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party will determine their official candidates for the presidential election at their party conventions in July and August.

The candidate who wins the presidential election to be held on November 5 will take office on January 20, 2025.
