Iran is in shock following the attacks carried out on February 28, particularly those targeting Tehran. The operation by American and Israeli forces, which targeted several high-ranking figures including Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has shaken the region. In the latest office recording released by Iranian state media, Khamenei is seen reading the Quran just minutes before he was assassinated.

While it was reported that the footage in question came from a security camera, it was noted that photographs of Ayatollah Khomeini and General Qasem Soleimani were located right next to Khamenei. Khomeini was the leader of the Iranian Islamic Revolution, while Soleimani was known as the architect of Iranian operations in the region.

HUNDREDS OF CIVILIANS AND OFFICIALS LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE ATTACKS

The attacks, which took place in the shadow of the ongoing tension between Washington and Tehran, were not limited to Khamenei. With the military move initiated by the US and Israel, US bases in countries such as Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain, as well as Iran, were targeted. In retaliation, Iran carried out attacks on various points in the region, including Israel.

While many high-ranking Iranian officials and hundreds of civilians lost their lives in the operations on February 28, the death of the country's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has ushered in a new era in Iranian politics. Following Khamenei's death, his son, Mojtaba Khamenei, was appointed to replace him.

These developments have caused a reshaping of the balances in the Middle East and the power competition in the region.
