Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is paying an official visit to Egypt.
Minister Fidan was welcomed at Egypt's El Arish Airport by North Sinai Governor Major General Khaled Megawer Mohamed.
As part of his contacts in Egypt, Minister Fidan will hold his first official meeting with Badr Abdellaty, who was appointed as Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs in the new government formed at the beginning of July.
Foreign Minister Fidan and his Egyptian counterpart Abdellaty will discuss preparations for the first High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (YDSK) meeting to be held during Egyptian President el-Sisi's visit to Turkey, and will evaluate the current status of nearly 20 agreements planned to be signed within the scope of the YDSK. During the talks, where views will be exchanged on bilateral political, economic, and cultural relations as well as current regional developments, the two ministers will discuss long-term cooperation opportunities in the fields of energy, health, tourism, and the defense industry.
