Foreign Ministry statement of support for the Syrian Transitional Government: 'Stability efforts must be increased'

Turkey has announced that it welcomes the transitional government established in Syria. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that this development is an important step toward ensuring security and stability in Syria. Turkey stated that it will continue to support the political transition process in Syria, provided it is led by Syrians and proceeds with an inclusive approach.

In the Ministry's statement, it was expressed that this step, taken following the organization of the National Dialogue Conference and the announcement of the Constitutional Declaration, demonstrates the Syrian administration's determination to advance the political transition process.

The Ministry's statement emphasized that support for the Shara administration will continue, and the following expressions were used:

'Turkey will continue to support the comprehensive and inclusive political process, which is one of the cornerstones of establishing security and stability in Syria.

During this critical period, it is important for the international community to also focus its efforts on the stabilization of Syria; in this context, it is primarily important that sanctions be lifted unconditionally and that reconstruction activities begin in Syria.'

The statement emphasized that the international community must also increase its efforts for Syria to achieve stability. In this context, attention was drawn to the importance of lifting sanctions unconditionally and starting reconstruction efforts in Syria.
