A 'Free Palestine' protest was held in Florence in front of Michelangelo's most important work, the Statue of David, which stands in front of the Galleria dell'Accademia in Piazza della Signoria, a square where politics has been shaped since the 14th century.

Tourists in the square, which was crowded with visitors, also showed their support for the protest.
