French President Macron reacts to Israel

French President Emmanuel Macron has taken a firm stance regarding the recent measures taken by Israeli security forces in Jerusalem. Criticizing the blocking of access to services to be held at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, especially ahead of Easter, Macron reacted in a statement on social media to the fact that the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem was also affected by these practices.

In his post, Macron condemned the obstruction of Christian participation in religious services in the region, stating that such practices raise concerns regarding religious freedoms. Drawing attention to the multi-religious structure of Jerusalem, the French President underscored that members of all faiths have the right to worship.

Furthermore, stating that the recent decisions by the Israeli police pave the way for increased violations of the historical status of holy sites in Jerusalem, Macron expressed in his message, which also resonated in the international community, that the protection of freedom of worship in the city is of indispensable importance.

Calling on the parties to exercise common sense with the words, "Freedom of worship must be guaranteed in Jerusalem," Macron drew attention to the necessity of maintaining religious tolerance in the city and reiterated his support for Christian communities during the Easter period.
