Another report of a plane crash has come from the US. The aircraft, identified as an air ambulance, crashed at 18:30 local time (2330GMT) after taking off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport, causing multiple fires.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced that there were two people on board the aircraft. However, a local FOX 29 reporter, citing the Philadelphia Police Department, stated that at least six people—two pilots, two doctors, one patient, and one family member—lost their lives in the crash.
Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy confirmed media reports, stating that there were six people on board the plane. Emergency teams dispatched to the scene reported that eyewitnesses heard loud explosion sounds and that several vehicles were on fire.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched an investigation into the accident.
A fire broke out in the area following the crash. The cause of the plane crash is not yet known.
