30 people have lost their lives in armed attacks carried out in Nigeria.
Zamfara Police Spokesperson Yazid Abu Abubakar stated in a written statement that armed gang members carried out attacks in the Maradun and Tsafe regions of the state.
Abubakar noted that security forces have been dispatched to the attack region and stated that further details regarding the attacks would be provided later.
According to reports in the national press, local residents noted that 30 people lost their lives in the attacks and that many people, including the local imam, were kidnapped.
Nigeria has recently been exposed to attacks by armed gangs as well as the terrorist organizations Boko Haram and the Islamic State's West Africa Province (ISWAP) in different parts of the country.
Furthermore, despite the penalty being death, kidnapping for ransom is frequently encountered in the country. Armed individuals and gang members generally target villages, schools, and travelers in the north of the country to demand ransom.
