German Chancellor makes statement on Iran-Israel conflict

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz commented on Iran's attack on Israel yesterday during his visit to China. Scholz stated that they do not support the war and issued a warning to Iran.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who is in the city of Chongqing as part of his visit to China, answered questions from journalists regarding the tension between Iran and Israel.

Reiterating that they condemn Iran's air attacks on Israel, Scholz said, "This is an attack that cannot be defended in any way. This is a serious escalation of the situation and is in no way acceptable, understandable, or tolerable." 

Stating that this situation has been the most important issue of the last 48 hours, Scholz shared that he would meet with the relevant ministers today to re-evaluate the situation as a government.

WARNED IRAN

Stating that a connection would also be made with the G7 countries, in which he will also participate, Scholz said, "We will do everything in our power to prevent further escalation, and that is why we will continue on our current path. However, we can only warn everyone, especially Iran, not to continue in this manner."

Scholz also noted that they stand in solidarity with Israel.
