German musician Frank Farian has passed away

German producer and musician Frank Farian has died at the age of 82. Farian had undergone a pig heart valve transplant two years ago.

German producer and musician Frank Farian, the 'shadow man' behind the Boney M group that left its mark on the disco era of the late 1970s and 1980s, has passed away at the age of 82.

His family announced that Farian died at his home in Miami.

Considered one of the architects of the 'Munich sound' era, which also utilized string instruments, Farian was the founder of the Boney M group, known for having some of the most 'infectious' rhythms in disco music, as well as the duo Milli Vanilli, which became infamous for the 1990 playback scandal.
