The decision, which was also published on Germany's 'Food Warning' website, was taken for the 100-gram Miskets brand Dubai chocolate, with the presence of sesame, which was not declared on the label, cited as the reason for the decision.
According to the report in the Food Bulletin, the justification for the decision pointed out that sesame is an allergenic food product, stating, “In people with a sesame allergy, it can cause allergic reactions ranging from redness and hives to vomiting, diarrhea, and even shortness of breath. Allergies are the immune system's excessive reactions to normally harmless substances. If you suspect you have a sesame allergy, you should not consume the product and should seek medical attention.”
The decision announced that consumers can return the products to points of sale and receive a refund without having to present any receipt.
On the other hand, the recall decision was also published on the chocolate's sales channel, the e-commerce site “candy2go”.
