Johann Wadephul stated that the plan presented by US President Donald Trump to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip offers a unique opportunity to end the horrific war and that it should not be missed.
Wadephul stated, "The US Gaza plan offers a unique opportunity to end the horrific war in Gaza. It gives hope to hundreds of thousands of people suffering from brutal conflicts and unimaginable humanitarian hardships in Gaza. It finally carries the hope for Israelis and Palestinians that this war could end soon."
Using the phrase, "This opportunity must not be missed. Hamas must evaluate this," Wadephul called on everyone who could influence Hamas to take immediate action.
URGED THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE SEIZED
Wadephul thanked US President Trump, the Arab states in the region, and other Muslim countries that want to ensure peace in Gaza with their concrete support.
Noting that Germany is ready to provide concrete support for the plan, Wadephul stated that the plan could pave the way for a broader reconciliation process in the Middle East and urged that this opportunity be seized.
Wadephul added that he is planning a visit to the region this weekend for this purpose.
