U.S. President Joe Biden, who will hand over his duties in January, celebrated Halloween at the White House for the last time with his wife, Jill Biden.

As President Biden and his wife handed out candy, the First Lady's giant panda costume drew attention.

The First Lady had announced earlier this year that pandas would be returning to the National Zoo. The White House stated that the pandas arrived in the nation's capital in mid-October and that Jill Biden wore the panda costume as a "welcome gesture."

Choosing education as the theme for this year's event, the First Lady read books to children before the festivities. Jill Biden, who is also an educator, gifted books to the children to encourage them to read.

A total of 8 thousand guests attended the event.
