Hamas stated that the footage circulating on social media, in which an individual threatens deadly attacks in the French capital of Paris in the context of Israel's participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, is an Israeli fabrication.

Hamas Political Bureau member Izzat al-Rishq stated in a written declaration, "Accounts affiliated with Israel have published a fake video containing death threats against the occupiers who will participate in the Olympic Games, attributing it to the Palestinian resistance."

Al-Rishq pointed out that these images are part of the propaganda Israel is conducting to tarnish the image of the Palestinian resistance, and emphasized that support should be given to calls for boycotting Israel, which is waging a war of genocide in the Gaza Strip, in all areas.

Footage began to circulate on social media of a person covering their face with a Palestinian keffiyeh and wearing a Palestinian flag on their shirt; this individual, who appeared to be a foreigner with a weak Arabic accent, used the following expressions in the video:

"Our struggle against the Zionist regime (Israel) continues. The French people and President (Emmanuel) Macron, you have supported the criminal war that the Zionist regime is waging against the Palestinian people. You invited the Zionists to the Olympic Games and you will pay the price for what you have done; rivers of blood will flow through the streets of Paris."

The same person ended the video by holding up the severed, bloody head of a toy.

It had been announced that Israel would participate in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which France will host on July 26.
