A Hamas official stated today that a Hamas delegation will travel to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, tomorrow as mediators accelerate efforts to reach an agreement.
The Hamas official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that Hamas will deliver its response to Israel's latest counter-proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza in Egypt tomorrow.
Without disclosing details of the latest proposal, the Hamas official said that the Hamas delegation, led by Hamas Political Bureau member Khalil al-Hayya, will also convey its response to Israel's proposal during a meeting with Egyptian intelligence officials tomorrow.
In a statement, Hamas Political Bureau member Khalil al-Hayya announced that they had received a response from Israel regarding the ceasefire and prisoner exchange proposal that Hamas had submitted two weeks ago and that they would review it, stating, "Hamas received the official response from the Zionist occupiers today regarding the proposal it submitted to Egyptian and Qatari mediators on April 13."
Hamas had announced on April 13 that it had submitted its response regarding the ceasefire proposal with Israel to Egypt and Qatar.
