Hamas has announced that it has given a "positive response" to the latest proposal presented regarding a ceasefire agreement in Gaza and that it is ready for negotiations to implement the ceasefire.
In a written statement from Hamas, it was reported that the response regarding the ceasefire proposal presented in Gaza had been conveyed to the mediating countries. The statement said, "The Hamas Movement has completed internal consultations and discussions among Palestinian groups regarding the mediators' latest proposal for ending the attacks on our people in Gaza. The Hamas Movement has presented its positive response to the mediators and is fully prepared to immediately enter a round of negotiations on the mechanism for implementing this framework."
TRUMP HAD ANNOUNCED THAT ISRAEL ACCEPTED THE CEASEFIRE
US President Donald Trump stated on July 2, "My representatives had a long and productive meeting with the Israelis regarding Gaza. Israel has accepted the necessary conditions to finalize a 60-day ceasefire." Noting that they would work with all parties during this period to end the war, Trump said, "Qatar and Egypt, who have worked very hard to ensure peace, will present this final proposal. I hope Hamas accepts this deal for the good of the Middle East. Because it will not get better otherwise. It will only get worse."
