Hamas sends 'Palestine' message to the West

Hamas official Hamdan held a press conference in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.

CHALLENGE TO ISRAEL

Noting that they are against Israel's plans to displace the people of Gaza and that they have previously thwarted this plan, Hamdan stated that Israel continues its efforts in this direction by killing the people and leaving them hungry and thirsty, but that they will fail again.

Stating that the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, had said they would turn Gaza into a graveyard for Israeli soldiers and that they have fulfilled this promise, Hamdan reported that Israeli soldiers are returning to their country dead, wounded, disabled, or mentally ill. Pointing out that Israel has not been able to achieve any of the goals it set for the war, Hamdan reiterated that there will be no prisoner exchange negotiations until the war ends and the conditions of the resistance forces are accepted.

"IT IS A MATTER FOR THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE TO DECIDE"

Speaking about the transition period and administration in Gaza after the war, Hamdan said, "This is a matter that only the Palestinian people will decide. Hamas will not allow anyone to interfere in this or impose anything on this issue."

Referring to the US administration's encouragement of the Israeli army to reduce civilian deaths, Hamdan said, "If the Washington administration were honest about this, it would stop the military shipments it makes to the Tel Aviv administration."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated many times before that the goal of the war is to destroy Hamas and that he is against a "Palestinian administration" being in charge in Gaza after the war.

Netanyahu and the US administration differ on this issue, as the US states that Palestinians should be included in the new government to be formed in Gaza after the war.
