Hamas official makes statement on ceasefire with Israel: They point to Netanyahu

Israel, the US, Egypt, and Qatar met yesterday in Doha, the capital of Qatar, to resume negotiations on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and while the meeting was ongoing, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi proposed a 2-day ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

A statement regarding yesterday's talks also came from a Hamas official.

A senior Hamas official, Husam Badran, stated that Hamas is "open" to an agreement with Israel, saying, "Our demands are clear and known. An agreement can be reached if Netanyahu adheres to the points previously agreed upon."

Saudi Arabian media had also previously reported that Hamas was ready to accept Egypt's proposals on the condition that they be added to the hostage deal demands from July 2.

SISI HAD PROPOSED A 2-DAY CEASEFIRE

While Israel, the US, Egypt, and Qatar were meeting in Doha, the capital of Qatar, to resume negotiations on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi also met with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in Cairo, the capital of Egypt. In his statement at the joint press conference held after the meeting, Sisi proposed a 2-day ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Stating that he proposed the exchange of 4 Israeli hostages for some Palestinian prisoners during the two-day ceasefire, Sisi expressed that negotiations should be resumed within 10 days after the implementation of the temporary ceasefire in order to reach a permanent ceasefire.
