Hamas Political Bureau Member Naim: Netanyahu is refusing

Hamas Political Bureau member Basem Naim made statements regarding the ceasefire agreement with Israel. Emphasizing that negotiations for the second phase of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip should have begun on the 16th day of the first phase and continued until an agreement was reached on all points of the second phase, Naim said, "Unfortunately, Netanyahu and his government are refusing to participate in the second phase, even though there is only one week left until the end of the first phase.

We believe these are dirty games played by the right-wing government to sabotage the deal, undermine it, and send a message that they are willing to return to war."

Stating that Hamas remains committed to the agreement and is fulfilling its obligations within the framework of the deal, Naim said, "In the first phase, more than 100 Palestinians were killed, a large portion of the agreed-upon humanitarian aid was not allowed to enter Gaza, and the withdrawal from the Netzarim Corridor was delayed."

"WE SAID WE ARE READY TO LEAVE"

Speaking about the rhetoric and actions of Arab leaders and the US, as well as the future of the Gaza Strip, Naim said, "Even before October 7, we said many times that we are ready to immediately leave our administrative position in the Gaza Strip and allow any Palestinian unity government, a technocratic government, or any alternative decided upon by Palestinians within the framework of Palestinian reconciliation."

Naim said they welcomed Egypt's proposal to establish a committee tasked with managing all aspects of life in Gaza in coordination with the Palestinian Authority government in Ramallah.

Noting that Hamas was founded as a national Palestinian resistance movement with clear goals such as "getting rid of the occupation and achieving the real and national goals of Palestinians, including statehood, self-determination, and the right of return," Naim said, "To achieve these goals, we will continue our struggle together with all other groups and all our people through all means, including political and diplomatic paths as well as armed resistance. However, we are ready to leave the management of Palestinians' daily lives, such as health, education, and social affairs, to a consensus-based solution."
