A Hamas delegation has arrived in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, within the framework of negotiations for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement in the Gaza Strip.

The unnamed Hamas official, in a statement to the French press, stated that the Hamas delegation is holding talks with mediators in Egypt regarding a ceasefire, saying, "We are ready for a prisoner exchange to be carried out at once and a 5-year ceasefire."

"WE WILL NOT ABANDON THE WEAPONS OF RESISTANCE"

Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi, in a statement regarding the negotiations in Cairo, said, "This time we will demand guarantees that the war has ended. The occupier could return to war after a partial agreement, but they cannot do so with a comprehensive agreement and international guarantees."

Hamas Political Bureau member Osama Hamdan also stated earlier today, "Any proposal that does not include a comprehensive and permanent end to the war will not be accepted. As long as the occupation continues, we will not abandon the weapons of resistance."
