Hezbollah announces it will elect a new leader: Who will head the organization?
In a statement from Lebanon's Hezbollah, it was announced that the organization's new leader will be determined soon.

Hezbollah Deputy Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem announced that the person who will replace Hassan Nasrallah, who lost his life in an Israeli airstrike, will be elected soon.
Stating that they are aware that the war with Israel will be long and that they will emerge victorious from this war, Sheikh Qassem said that they would achieve victory against Israel in this war just as they did in 2006.
Sheikh Qassem made a televised speech following the killing of Hezbollah Secretary-General Nasrallah in Israeli airstrikes on the Dahiyeh district of Beirut on September 27.

'RESERVES ARE ALWAYS READY IN CASE A LEADER IS STRUCK'
Stating that Israel will not be able to diminish Hezbollah's military power, Sheikh Qassem noted that they are ready to fight against any potential Israeli ground invasion of Lebanon.
Recalling that some Hezbollah officials, as well as Nasrallah, lost their lives in the heavy bombardment of the Dahiyeh district, Sheikh Qassem stated the following:
'We will elect a secretary-general for Hezbollah as soon as possible. We will do this according to Hezbollah's mechanisms. The options will be very easy, rest assured. In the structure of Hezbollah, reserve alternatives are always ready in case one of the leaders is struck.'

1,178 PEOPLE KILLED IN LEBANON AS A RESULT OF ISRAELI ATTACKS
The Israeli army, which has been engaged in controlled clashes with Hezbollah since October 8, 2023, launched hundreds of airstrikes on southern Lebanese cities as well as the Bekaa and Baalbek regions on September 23.
According to Lebanese authorities, a total of 1,178 people, including 104 children and 194 women, have been killed since September 17, when communication devices used by Hezbollah were detonated.
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed in Israeli airstrikes on Beirut on September 27.
Hezbollah is responding to Israel with rockets and missiles. No major damage has been reported in these attacks, which mostly target army bases on the Israeli side.
Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced within the country due to the Israeli bombardment.
While the wave of migration from the southern parts of the country to the capital Beirut and the north continues, it is stated that tens of thousands of people have migrated to Syria.
