Security forces in Ecuador have been placed on high alert due to a suspected assassination plot against President Daniel Noboa.

In a statement issued by the Ecuadorian Presidential Press Office, it was stated: "We strongly condemn and reject any attempt against the lives of our President, state officials, and public servants. It is a pathetic situation that criminal structures are attempting to create chaos through violence, fear, and terror by collaborating with political circles that were defeated in the elections."
The statement noted that all security protocols have been activated, adding: "We will respond with all our might. They will test our resolve. They spread death, while we defend life, democracy, and freedom."
The Ecuadorian Armed Forces Command also confirmed intelligence regarding attacks on strategic points and state institutions, arguing that plans were being made for actions aimed at destabilizing the streets through protests that turn into violence.
