High-ranking commander Abu Kasra appointed as defense minister in Syria
The Syrian interim government announced that Murhaf Abu Kasra, a high-ranking commander of the opposition forces that toppled the Bashar al-Assad regime, has been appointed as defense minister.

Following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria, the members of the interim government are gradually being determined.
In a statement issued by the Syrian interim government, it was announced that Murhaf Abu Kasra, a high-ranking commander of the opposition forces that toppled the Assad regime, has been appointed as defense minister.
It was noted that Abu Kasra led numerous operations organized by opposition groups.
