HTS Leader al-Julani: 'Kurds are an inseparable part of Syria'

In Syria, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) leader and potential presidential candidate for the new administration, Abu Mohammad al-Julani, has made statements regarding the Kurds in the region. Responding to questions from an Arab journalist, al-Julani described the Kurdish people as an inseparable part of Syria.

Al-Julani stated that with the collapse of the regime, the difficulties faced by the Kurds would come to an end, and that in the new Syria, Kurds would be among the fundamental elements.

'THERE WILL BE NO MORE OPPRESSION OF KURDS'

“Like us, they have also suffered much oppression. God willing, we will continue to live together with our Kurdish people in the new Syria. Each of us will obtain our rights within the framework of the law. From now on, there will be no more oppression of the Kurds.”

Describing the collapse of the regime as a turning point for Syria, al-Julani said this would be “the beginning of a new door and a new history.”
