Abu Muhammad al-Jolani, leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), which has captured the Syrian capital Damascus, stated, "We are determined to continue on the path we started in 2011." In the statement broadcast on Syrian television, it was reported that Jolani said, "The future is ours."

Meanwhile, two Lebanese security sources speaking to Reuters reported that Hezbollah has withdrawn all of its forces from Syria. One of the sources stated that Hezbollah sent supervisory forces to Syria throughout Thursday and Friday night to oversee the withdrawal.
